HOW TO IMPRESS THE EXAMINER

HOW TO IMPRESS THE EXAMINER

Hello Dear Students,

Board Examination  ! seems to be a dreaded term for the board aspirants. In-spite of studying and working throughout the year many are not able to make a mark or get  very high score in the board examination .The reason needs to be understood.....

Being thorough with the syllabus and attempting the paper are two different things. Paper presentation is a skill that a student must learn and apply in the board examinations.

It is obvious that a student attempts the paper as per his knowledge and preparation  , completely forgetting  that it has to go in the hands of an unknown expert. The fact is; he is not writing the paper for himself. He is presenting it to someone who has to give him something very precious  in return  ie. MARKS.☺

So to get that “precious something” , the  paper should  be attempted in such a manner that it appears to be a present (gift) for that unknown examiner who is supposed to evaluate it. Keep in mind that the examiner is all set to give you marks, if you make it convenient for him to check it.

An impressive paper may not be 100% correct. It  may have its own  share of mistakes but here we are talking about presentation of paper.

So,           HOW TO PRESENT A PAPER !

HERE ARE SOME TIPS

1.      As soon as you get the answer sheet, check it properly so that you can get it replaced  , if its torn or mutilated.

2.     Draw the margin on the right side of each page of the answer sheet with a marker .It will immediately add the beauty to your paper.

3.     On getting the question paper, utilize the cooling off time(15 mins given by board) in a purposeful manner .Follow the instructions given on the top of the question paper to the hilt.

4.     Read each question carefully and thoroughly and then make a strategy to attempt the paper. To build a positive impression on the examiner , attempt your second best question first ,followed by the answer you know the best and then the other questions in sequence.

5.     Number the questions in the centre.

6.     Start every long question from a new page.

7.      Put a line with marker after completing a question.

8.     The look of the paper should be neat , systematic and impressive with least cuttings. If you need to cut any thing ,  simply strike through .

9.     Overwriting makes a paper look ugly. Neatly cut and re-write , if you have written anything wrongly.

10. Always write the differences in tabular form along with basis.

11. Rough work should never be done with the main solution. Use a separate page for the same by giving the heading to it.

12. Never use abbreviations or short forms while writing formulae.

13. Write units wherever required.

14. Attempt all questions.

15. Draw neat, proportional and well labelled diagrams

16. Never write irrelevant answers. It irritates the examiner.

17. While   attempting  theory questions , must give an introductory line to connect your answer to the question. These must also be properly concluded.

18. Revise your paper thoroughly and correct errors, if  any, before submitting it to the invigilator.

Remember that you speak to the examiner through your paper and it should be impressive and inspiring for the evaluator to give you maximum marks heartily

Bonus Tip

To learn the art of presentation one must go through the answer script of the topper which is generally put up by the board on its website.

    HOPE YOU FIND THIS USEFUL.
