STORY SHARED

STRUGGLE IS GOOD

Once a little boy was playing outdoors and found a fascinating caterpillar. He carefully picked it up and took it home to show his mother. He asked his mother if he could keep it, and she said he could if he would take good care of it.

The little boy got a large jar from his mother and put plants to eat, and a stick to climb on, in the jar. Every day he watched the caterpillar and brought it new plants to eat.

One day the caterpillar climbed up the stick and started acting strangely. The boy worriedly called his mother who came and understood that the caterpillar was creating a cocoon. The mother explained to the boy how the caterpillar was going to go through a metamorphosis and become a butterfly.

The little boy was thrilled to hear about the changes his caterpillar would go through. He watched every day, waiting for the butterfly to emerge. One day it happened, a small hole appeared in the cocoon and the butterfly started to struggle to come out.

At first the boy was excited, but soon he became concerned. The butterfly was struggling so hard to get out! It looked like it couldn’t break free! It looked desperate! It looked like it was making no progress!

The boy was so concerned he decided to help. He ran to get scissors, and then walked back (because he had learned not to run with scissors…). He snipped the cocoon to make the hole bigger and the butterfly quickly emerged!

As the butterfly came out the boy was surprised. It had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings. He continued to watch the butterfly expecting that, at any moment, the wings would dry out, enlarge and expand to support the swollen body. He knew that in time the body would shrink and the butterfly’s wings would expand.

            But neither happened!

The butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings.

It never was able to fly…

As the boy tried to figure out what had gone wrong his mother took him to talk to a scientist from a local college. He learned that the butterfly was SUPPOSED to struggle. In fact, the butterfly’s struggle to push its way through the tiny opening of the cocoon pushes the fluid out of its body and into its wings. Without the struggle, the butterfly would never, ever fly. The boy’s good intentions hurt the butterfly.

As you go through school, and life, keep in mind that struggling is an important part of any growth experience. In fact, it is the struggle that causes you to develop your ability to fly.

As teachers our gift to you is stronger wings…

MERA PADHNE MEIN NAHI  LAAGE DIL - KYUN !
(PART 2)
Hello Dear Students,

Hope you liked the previous blog.Continuing with the questions put by you.

Q10-The environment at my home is not congenial for studies.

Ans - First show your seriousness ,others will understand.

Q11- I will study from tomorrow.

Ans- Tomorrow never comes.Action has to be taken right away.

Q12- I feel sleepy while studying.

Ans- Get up,wash your face, splash water in your eyes, do some jumping at your place and read out loudly. It helps.

Q13- I am not intelligent,I have to put lot more efforts than my friends who learn very fast.

Ans- Remember " Hard work beats Talent" and talent also has to work hard to maintain a particular level.

Q14- I don't have a strong base in studies so now I avoid  studying.

Ans- The answer lies in the question itself.Your basics are weak because of your poor study habits.Studies were never a priority with you.Now that you have realized it,half  the battle is won.Taking a U Turn in life is just a thought away. As the saying  also goes "When the student is ready, the teacher appears."What you have to do is , honestly jot down the areas of your weakness and talk to the concerned teachers. The teachers will definitely be able to guide you through.

Q15- I can't help thinking about my special friend and those thoughts distract me for  hours.

Ans- What I gather from your question is that you are talking about your infatuation. Having a crush on someone, at your age, is understandable but if you are thinking about pairing up with someone at this stage and age, it is disastrous. It may cost you -your future. The rules of life are different from what you think right now.The reality of life is that it runs on success, status, money and things like that which you will understand in the process of growing up. There is no point in having a pleasure driven life without any personal achievement . It will  make you feel hollow after sometime.  Right now ,simply distance yourself from such things and start working towards your goal.Having a goal and seeing yourself working towards it is one of the greatest feelings in the world.Give it a try.

Now that most of your escape routes have been closed ☺(are they!) at least I think so, you have no reason to sing "mera padhne mein nahi laage dil- kyon."☺

Do give your precious feedback and

                                       STAY BLESSED ☺

MERA PADNE MEIN NAHI LAAGE DIL -I

MERA   PADHNE  MEIN NAHI LAAGE DIL---- KYUN ! (Part-1)

Hello Dear Students,

In   this  blog  I am trying to answer  some more questions shot by you . Here are the quick answers. Hope you enjoy reading them and get answers to your satisfaction.

Q1 - I   don’t want to study .

Ans – Is this a question or a declaration ! Tell me where do you see  yourself  ten years from now without education? Education gives you   opportunities . Basic, minimum qualification is required to do anything further . Take it or leave it.

Q 2- I do not feel like studying.

Ans-  “Feel like studying or don’t feel like studying “ are mere emotions and  emotions are temporary. They come and go .Never take actions on the basis of your emotions .Our mind   always   want   to   keep us in comfort - zone. It does not want any challenges .That   is   why   it is telling us not to study. If you follow the lazy  mind  , you  will go nowhere in life.

Q3 –It is  challenging.

Ans – Then accept the challenge .You are bigger than any   challenge thrown at you.

Q4 – The syllabus is   tough.

Ans – Crack the hard nut with the help of various resources that you have. Refer books, consult   teachers , take the help of your tutor ,ask your friends  or your family members .Even some e-portals are available to solve your queries . CBSE and other Boards   design   the curriculum of each class with lot of research  and analysis ,keeping in mind the mental growth of a child till that stage .So the learning objectives set by the board are  age appropriate, systematically  designed to engage the pupils throughout the year.

Q5- What is the point – However hard I            study ,I forget everything in exams.

Ans- Remember memories are of two types –‘  Long Term Memory  and Short Term Memory. ’When we study just before the exams ,we build short term memory which tends  to be small in size,  giving  us  immediate benefits.Long term memories are built by following consistent revision schedules.Revise the chapters after every 2nd, 7th,15th and 30th day to build up a long term memory.

Q6 – It requires lot of efforts.

Ans  - Nothing worthwhile is achieved without efforts. Only hunger , illness, poverty and failures come automatically, without any efforts.  Do nothing and watch these things come by  .  Are you  going to like it ?

Q7- It does not give any   immediate   reward .

Ans – Reward depends upon your goal.  If you are planting a Mango Tree , which will give you both fruit and shade in future; you need to nurture it daily before  reaping  its benefits.

Q8-Its boring

Ans-  So are our parents .Aren’t they important ?

Q9 - I want to do something else like  art , music, dance ,sports ,etc.

Ans – Is it an escape route or a genuine passion? Research says a minimum 10,000 hours of practice is needed in something you want to  master  . Even if your vocation lies in the above  mentioned fields ,you will have to walk through the road of class 12th boards .Do anything you want but  first learn  commitment  and studies are the proven way to teach you the same.
That is  all for now .See you with some more questions and anwers in my next blog. Do give me your precious feedback.
STAY BLESSED.

TECHNIQUES THAT REALLY WORK II (FEAR)

TECHNIQUES THAT REALLY WORK II (FEAR)
Hello Dear Students,

Today I am going to talk about fear  and share with you some tips and techniques that are really practical and surely work if followed regularly.☺
Fear is the negative anticipation of that something which is yet to come. Each one of us faces fear of one form or the other. Our ancestors faced the fear of wild animals, weather, natural calamities,
attack from other communities. Slowly and steadily these fears have been removed or overcome. In the modern age there are some other types of collective and individual fears to face.Whatever may be the nature of fear; one must learn to deal with it.
Frequently the fears expressed by students are those of  not being able to complete the whole syllabus, fear of exams, fear of  failure, fear of forgetting the answers, fear of not being able to complete the paper, fear of future, stage fear, etc.
Now remember, that emotions like fear and anxiety are not the problems in themselves; they are the symptoms, results or the signals indicating that there is lack of planning, preparation, information or knowledge. Some amount of fear is useful as it alerts us to protect, prepare and plan for ourselves.
Does that mean we must learn to live with our fears ?
Never ! Fear  must be faced and tackled head on.The cause of the fear must be identified and worked upon.

Here are some tips and techniques that can be learnt to reduce the intensity of fear and anxiety.

1. DISCUSS
Discuss your fears with the ones  you can trust. People with good support system are known to overcome their fears more easily
2. Write down all the fears that you have on a piece of paper. It is one of the good ways of releasing them.Reading them after sometime reduces the intensity of some of them.

3. DO SOME SELF TALK
Try to find out the real reasons for your fear.Ask yourself that what can you do reduce it.Take some action in this direction, within 24 hrs.

4. RELAX AND MEDITATE
You can try the following meditation.
Sit quietly.Light a candle in front of you  and simply focus on it for about 10 minutes. This meditation has a calming effect and helps us to see things in  perspective.

5. EXERCISE
For instant results, you may try this breathing exercise.
Step 1. ____ Inhale to the count of four.
Step 2._____ Hold your breath to the count of two.
step 3._____ Now exhale from mouth to the count of 8.
Repeat the process 10-15 times and see the effect.☺

6. EXPECT  POSITIVE
Do some positive and peppy self talk.

7. PRAY
Say a small prayer and include God in your matters. If you feel         like you can say the following prayer.

"Dear God, enlighten what is dark in me, strengthen what is weak in me, mend what is broken in me, bind what is bruised in me, heal what is sick in me ,give your wisdom and guidance and revive whatever peace, love and kindness has died in me.I put all my trust in you." Amen.

   Bonus Tip
Stop trying to figure everything out.Things will automatically fall into place.
Till then be consistent, keep putting your efforts with faith and do not forget that BEYOND FEAR LIES VICTORY.

                                ☺ STAY BLESSED ☺

TECHNIQUES THAT REALLY WORK - I

                                                                           TECHNIQUES THAT REALLY WORK-I

Hello Dear Students,
In a candid discussion that we had a few days back, regarding your studies  , you brought my attention to various kinds of problems that you face while studying. I would try my best to address each issue one by one First in the series is following question, put up by many of you.
Q- I am distracted by social media and have addiction to mobile phone ,PSP, PUBG ,COMPUTER GAMES  ,etc, etc.. Which do not let me study  . What should I do ?
A-Any activity which starts disrupting our daily routine is an addiction, be it Facebook, Instagram ,Whatsapp  ,games or any other thing for that matter .Social Media and its devices are designed to be addictive and  they are here to stay in form or the other. We cannot completely do away with these tools. But yes;we can definitely reduce our too much dependence and craving for them by taking some proactive actions .Some of the actions I can suggest are:
1 .Always have some Goal, Target or a Big Purpose in Life, to  achieve .Working hard towards your goal and seeing it accomplished is the biggest addiction in the world! BETTER BE ADDICTED TO YOUR GOAL.

2.Remember, social media and games are the temporary and easy diversions which momentarily fulfil the emptiness created due to our inability to think” What to do in free time?” Therefore you must cultivate some interesting hobby to fill your free time. The satisfaction one gets by PERSUING YOUR INTERESTS is   long lasting and divine.

3. Remove   unnecessary APPS from your mobile and silent the notifications to curb the urge of looking at your phone again and again.

4. During   study hours, switch off the internet and handover the mobile to your parents. See it only when your study time is over. Better to have an hour assigned for usage of   mobile   phone.

5 .Read newspaper, go out   take a walk  ,play ,exercise and socialise to be away from this harmful addiction.

6. Now here is a technique developed by Dr. Roger Callahan after years of research and experimentation. IT is known to have immediate effect on   the ”Craving for Social Media.”Whenever you have an urge for social media, games try this EFT called “9 POINTS TAPPING”.
In this technique one is supposed to tap, 7-10 times, using the two fingers, with firm and gentle pressure on each of the nine points, in the following order:

1.     Tap the Karate Chop point of your hand.
2.     Tap the beginning of the eyebrow.
3.     Tap the end of the eyebrow.
4.     Tap under your eye.
5.     Tap under your nose.
6.     Tap on your chin.
7.     Tap just below the hard ridge of your collar bone.
8.     Tap under your arm (arm pit).
9.     Tap on your head.

This technique can be applied  anytime, anywhere and any number of times during the day and is said to have immediate effect. It really worked on people who have tried  and IT WILL WORK FOR YOU ASWELL.

TRY SINCERELY!
